Three solid cubes of sides 1cm,6cm and 8cmare melted to form a new cube ,find the surface area of the new cube thus formed.​

Volume of first cube = 1 *1 *1 = 1 cubic cm.

Volume of second cube = 6 * 6 *6 = 216 cu cm.

Volume of third cube = 8 * 8 * 8 = 512 cub cm.

Then Volume of bigger cube = 512 + 1 + 216 = 729.

So, side of bigger cube = Cube root of 729 = 9 cm.

Surface area of cube = 6 * a^2 = 6 * 9 *9 = 486 sq. cm..
