Son's age = a - 4

Father's age = b -4

3(a-4) = b- 4

3a - 12 = b - 4

3a - b  = 8 ...........(1)

After three years

Son's age = a+ 3

Father's age b+3

2(a + 3) + 2 = b + 3

2a + 6 + 2 = b + 3

b - 2a = 5 ..............(2)

3a - b + b - 2a = 8 + 5

a = 13

b - 2a  = 5

b = 5 + 26

b = 31

Son's age = 13
