Step-by-step explanation:

3years ago

F+S = 48

present age

F+S=48+3+3=54

AFTER 3 YEARS

3:1

(F+3)÷(S+3) = 3÷1

F+3 = 3S+9, or

F = 3S+6 …(2)

Equate (1) and (2): 54-S = 3S+6, or

4S=48, or S = 12 and So F = 42.

The father is 42 years and the son 12 years, now.
