Let the son's present age be x, therefore the father's age would be 5x.

Three years back,

5x-3 = x-3+24

x=6

Three years after now, the age of son would be

6+3=9 years

Answer:

the son will be 8.4 years old

step by step explaination

let son

three years ago the father was 24+x years

now father 's age is 5x

therefore 5x-3=24+x-3

5x-x=24-3+3

4x=24

x=24÷4

x=6 years

Three years from now son 's age will be = x+3=6+3=9 years
