Given that,

The population before three years = 3502914

The population in the present year = 4857346

TO FIND -

The increase in the population.

METHOD -

It is very simple to find the increase in population during the last three years if population of three years ago and present population is known.

So, to solve this question or to find out the increase in population, we have to subtract the three years ago population from the present population.

Therefore,

Increase in population =

4857346 - 3502914

= 1354432

Hence, the increase in the population is 1354432
