through a rectangular field of length 100 m and breadth 50 m two roads are constructed which are parallel to the sides and cut each other at right angles through the centre of the field. if the width of each road is 4 m find the area covered by the roads and the cost of constructing the roads at ®120 per m²​

Length of the road along the length of the field= 100m

Breadth= 4m

Area of the road= l×b

=100 ×4 =400m^2

Similarly, the area of the road parallel to the breadth of the field= l×b

=50 × 4=200m^2

Area of the common portion= 4×4 =16m^2

1. Area of the two roads

=400+ 200 -16

=584m^2

2. cost of construction of the roads

584×120

=®70080
