The people of Bastar were deeply affected by the reservation of forest policy implemented by the colonialists. They revolted against it. But their rebellion was crushed by the colonialists. This rebellion gave victory to the rebels as certain changes were made by the colonialists. These include:

1.There was a temporary suspension on the work of forest reservation.
2.The area which was planned to be brought under reservation was reduced to half.

Answer:

[1]British Government was able to crush the Bastar rebel but it was a major victory of rebels also.

[2] Work on reservation was temporarily suspended and the area to be reserved was reduced.

[3] It was decided by the British to reserve two-thirds of the forest and ban on shifting cultivation, hunting and collection of forest produce were temporarily suspended.

[4] The reserved forest area was reduced to roughly half of that planned before 1910.

[5] It was a moral triumph of the people of Bastar.B35
