An acid is a substance that dissociates in water to give hydrogen ions H+(aq) (a substance capable of donating a proton) or a species that accepts an electron pair. the hydrogen in alcohol and glucose do not do so . so they are not acids.if you think like that, even strong bases like NaOH and KOH have hydrogen atoms but are bases.

Acids are the substances which gives hydrogen ions on dissociating but if it is a substance which is not giving h + ions what is associated then it means it is not an acid glucose and alcohol does not give Express iron so they are not acidic in nature we can also give example of any which is a very strong base and it has one hydrogen atom but still it is not acidic.
