live status of women in pre colonial India was very low due to age old social customs and practices that if selected the dominance of men in all walks of life. Government had no major role in the family. All important decisions in a woman's life were taken by her father or her husband comma and letter by her son. Women did not have the right to inherit their father's property. They were also discouraged from attending schools and colleges.
