Akbar the great was the second ruler of Mughal dynasty. During his reign, he initiated several reforms in the administrative system of the empire. Therefore, as a part of his reform, he divided the empire into various subas controlled by the Subedars. He also introduced a new system of revenue collection better known as the Mansabdari system. In this system, every officer in the empire was given a rank or mansab and a jagir through which they could collect the revenue. The jagir was fixed as the salary and allowance for the officers. In return of their mansabs officers were required to pay military and finan-cial services to the empire. His Finance Minister Todar Mal He introduced a land survey and settlement policy, standards weights and measures. He is well known for a system of revenue, recognized as Zabt and a method of tax collection called Dahshala. Akbar made marriage alliances with Hindu rulers, who helped Akbar to won many of his battles and to create a social harmony in India. Overall, Akbar pre-sented a good example of governance
