Apartheid ( a system of racial discrimination)  was introduced in South Africa by the National Party( a Government of all Whites) in 1948.  This system took away all the basic Human rights of the Blacks. Hence the resistance came to the system when the Khoi- Khoi community resisted the establishment of a food station of the Dutch East India Company in 1652. This battle began to localize when the African National Congress (ANC) was established in January 1912.  ANC sprang to change its way to mass-based campaign plan on freedom from Apartheid in South Africa when Nelson Mandela joined the ANC in 1944. Nelson Mandela endorsed the Non- violent protest, as he wanted to follow Gandhi's idea of Non- violence. But when this did not work, only when he used more violent tactics. In fact, he became the Commander in chief of the Armed Underground Wing of the ANC.
