Thuso sails his boat from Mogadishu directly North-East for 50 km, then directly South-east for 100km. Ahe then sails directly back to Mogadishu at 13:00 hrs at a speed of 25 km/h. What time does he arrive?

Please explain it to me in details by drawing a diagram. This is the most difficult question that I can not solve without a diagram.

Many thanks.

Answer:

hey.... mate ur ans... is here

This problem just constructs a right triangle.

To solve, use the pythagorean theorem a squared + b squared = c squared.

2500 + 10000 = 12500

So he travels home 111.8 km.

divide 111.8 by 25 and he traveled for 4.47 hours. Convert this into minutes and he traveled the last leg in 4 hours and 28 minutes. So he arrived back at Mogadishu at 17:28.

hope i help u
