Answer:

(a) (ii) hundreds

(b) (iii) 1

(c) (i) 0

(d) 800

Step-by-step explanation:

(a) When we add 100 to 9,136, the digit at hundredth place increases by1.

                                                  9 1 3 6

                                                 + 1 0 0

                                                  9 2 3 6

As we can see that the hundred place digit which is 1 has increases by 1 and becomes 2 after addition of 100.

(b) The greatest 2-digit number is less than the smallest 3-digit number by- 1

greatest 2 - digit number  = 99

Smallest 3 - digit number  = 100

difference of greatest 2 - digit number and Smallest 3 - digit number,

= 100 - 99

= 1

(c)  7,000 - 5,000 - 2,000

= 7000 - 7000

= 0

(d) 400 more than the successor of 399 is equal to 800.

successor 0f 399 is the number which comes just after 399. and we get it by adding 1 to 399 .

 successor of 399 = 399 + 1

  = 400

400 more than the successor of 399 = 400 + successor of 399

= 400 + 400

= 800
