I'm finding the probability of drawing a ticket which is a multiple of either 6 or 7.

No. of total outcomes is 300.

300 divided by 6 gives quotient 50.

So there are 50 tickets which are multiples of 6.

300 divided by 7 gives quotient 42.

So there are 42 tickets which are multiples of 7.

Add these both. We get. 50 + 42 = 92.

But, among these 92, some tickets which are multiples of 42 (6 × 7) are occurred two times each. We have to deduct these.

300 divided by 42 gives quotient 7.

So 7 tickets which are multiples of 42 are occurred two times among the 92 ones. So subtract this 7 from 92.

We get 92 - 7 = 85.

This is the no. of favourable outcomes.

∴ Probability = 85/300 = 17/60.

If the question is to find the probability of drawing a ticket which is a multiple of both 6 and 7, then the answer will be 7/300, as we found earlier the no. of tickets which are multiples of 42.

Hope this helps. Plz mark it as the brainliest.

Plz ask me if you've any doubts.

Thank you. :-))
