Hey!
Let the number of student tickets sold be x.
So, number of non student tickets sold will be 1210−x
So by the given condition:
8x+(1210−x)10 = 11700
⇒10x−8x = 12100−11700
⇒x = 400/2 = 200
200 students tickets were sold.
