tide occurs in Ocean but not in lakes.why?

The reason is as follows.
The Tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun .... Tides do occur in lakes they just aren't noticible. The reason is that the Seas and Oceans have space which air can flow freely without stopped by any objects where as in lake  ,the water is less and not that much air flow freely.
Hence..
tide occurs in Ocean but not in lakes

Explanation:maybe its because of the area covered by the oceans and lake. As we know oceans have much more area than lakes so the garvitational pull is higher at high areas as well as distance plays a significant role. So those oceans which are nearest to the moon have longer and bigger tides while the far ones have small and maybe no tides at all
