Tides refers to changes in the rise and fall of sea levels. It is  caused by the combined effects of the gravitational forces exerted by the Moon and the Sun, and the rotation of the Earth.

The change in the  positions of these celestial bodies brings about a change in the surfaces’ heights.

The moon, however, influences tides the most.

It`s gravitational pull on the earth is so strong that it  tug the oceans into bulge.
