tides occur in oceans beacuse the under ground ocean has plates due to which when they move means get contracts or go away from each other there will be an formation of tides as the water in ocean flows but when we see in lakes the water will stays back so there will be no movement of plates present in lakes hence tides occur in ocean but not in lakes .
