It is the axis of a stalk which liesbetween radicle and plumule in a seed is called embryonic axis or tigellum.

It is the main axis or stalk of the embryo and lies between between root and plumule. One end of the tigellum bulges out of cotyledons and lies next to micropyle and is called radicle. The other end of tigellum is the feathery plumule .
