2)Denominator becomes 12

times the numerator, if both the numerator and

the denominator are reduced by 6.

Therefore, (y-6)=12(x-6)

=Y-6=12x-72

=12x-y=66.....(2)

Substitute value of y from eq(1) in eq(2).

12x-4-2x=66

=10x=70

=X=7

Now, substitute value of y in eq 1

Y=4+2*7=4+14+18

Hence the fraction becomes 7/18
