Answer:India has adopted uniform time for the whole country which is UTC+05:30. Even, India does not observe Day Light Saving Time.
Although, this seems illogical at present because the time difference between sun rise in extreme east and extreme west is about 2 hrs, which means that if sun rises at 0400 hrs at Kibithu, Arunachal Pradesh, sun rise will happen only at 0600 hrs at Guhar Moti, Gujarat.
I observed this phenomena during my recent trip to north-east. I was there for a week and used to wake up with sun rise i.e. around 4–4:30 am while in Ahmedabad where I stay, I normally wake up at 6:00 am. Now, imagine the office timings in eastern states. When the offices start in Mumbai at 09:30 am, the sun is already above head in Nagaland.
In my opinion, our country should have 2 to 3 time zones and observe Day Light Saving.
