FIRST , Practice and have a good hand over all the chapters’ summary. You should have every book-back questions in your finger-tips.
( Short summaries for every chapter handy online)
SECOND, Practice all the generic writing part that was asked in the earlier years .
In exam,
Read all the questions before you start. It’s scientifically proven, when you read in the beginning, everything gets registered in your mind due to the Adrenaline rush that takes place in your body.
:: Section A - Reading
Attempt this first. As you just started, you grasp the most in the beginning of the given hours. Attempt all the easy straight forward questions. Never waste time thinking in the first go.
:: Section B- Advanced writing
This is going to consume most of your time!
If it’s the question you practised, then Bingo :P else jot down all important points and elaborate on each for not more than 3 sentences.
Never go beyond the no. of words mentioned. CBSE has strict guidelines on the word limit.
Never compromise on the format and grammar. Sticking to the format fetched me a good score though it didn’t have more content.
::Section C -Literature
Lastly, towards the end of the examination , is this section. The examiner expects short and to-the-point answer. Be crisp.
Imagine the exam to be half an hour short. this would enable you to devote time to rectify grammatical errors.
