Born on 24th October, 1775, Bahadur Shah Zafar was the last known Mughal emperor.
He became the king in 1837 after the death of his father Akbar II.
Bahadur shah was not the preferred choice of Akbar for his throne but as his other son was exiled by the British, he had no other choice.
Bahadur Shah died on 7th November 1862.
