Answer:
Timur was a Turkish chief who ruled over a large empire in Central Asia. In 1398 A.D, he invaded the Delhi Sultanate ruled by Sultan Nasir-ud-din Mahmud Shah Tughluq of the Tughluq Dynasty. The battle took place between his army and the Sultan’s army on 17 December 1938. It gave a severe blow to the Tughluq rule. The city of Delhi was completely destroyed and ruined by him. On his way to Delhi, he met opposition from the Governor of Meerut but nothing could stop him from reaching Delhi. He amassed enormous wealth from India and carried it to Central Asia.
