Tina wrote an exam which had 15 questions. Each question she answers correctly gets her 20 marks. However, she loses 10 marks for each question she answers in correctly. She attempted all the questions and got a total of 180 Marks. How many questions did she answer wrong? ​

Let the correct answers be x.

and let the wrong answers be y.

So, total marks will be given as,

20x + (-10)y

= 20x - 10y marks

Now, Tina's marks = 180

∴300 - 180 = 120 marks (the marks she lost)

So let the marks she couldn't get be 2x,

and let the marks she lost be x.

∴2x + x = 120

∴3x = 120

∴x = 40
