Heya!! Here is your answer.
✨
✨
Now,let me explain these to you.
⭐Finite verbs are verbs which change their form when there is a change in the number and person of the subject.
For example, consider this sentence.
1 ) She loves rain.(This sentence is in the third person singular).
Now,let's change its person.
2 )I love rain.(It is the same sentence but it's in the first person singular)
Now, let's again change it.
3 )You love rain.(It's again the same sentence but it's in the second person)
✨So,the verbs in these three sentences are finite verbs as they changed their form when there was a change in number and person.
⭐ Non-finite verbs are just the opposite. They don't show any change. There are three types of Non-finite verbs:
✨ (or verbal nouns)
✨ (or verbal adjective)
✨
⭐A gerund is a verb which acts as a noun.
⭐A participle is a verb which acts an an adjective.
⭐An infinitive is a verb which acts as a noun, adjective and adverb.
Now,consider these examples.
1 ) This is a burning house.
Observation- The word "burning" is a Participle because it's a verb which is working as an adjective. Its describing the word "house".
NOTE:-There are two types of Participles, Past and Present.
2 ) Eating chips on a windy day.
Observation-The word "Eating" is a gerund as it's working as a noun in this sentence.
NOTE:-Gerunds always have "ing" with them.
3 ) I love to swim.
Observation-The word "to swim" is the Infinitive as it's qualifying the word "swim".
NOTE:-Infinitives generally have "to" in front of them.
