asleep in the valley is a poem about war and it is also a anti war poem.Rimbaud, the poet was a dutch colonial army in 1876.The poet tried to understand everyone about futility of a war.we can see a died soldier in a valley which vally is full of life.we can call the poem as allegorical poem. The reader takes in this picture-perfect setting in which a young soldier blissfully sleeps.he has a rude shock, through, when he realises that the young soldier is a casualty of war.the contrast between dead and life, completes the titel of the poem.
