The poem tells us about the cold hearten behavior of the bird killers. Killers do not care about the sentiments between the pair of crane. The hunter has killed the male bird, when he was unaware of the situation around him. The hunter is not a noble man, as he had not given the chance to a crane to even defend himself.
The crane was about to enjoy his life and carry out his daily routine with the rise of the sun when this mishap occurred.
Even after killing that innocent crane, he behaved very harshly with his dead body, they grabbed the dead body by hand and jaws and threw it in the coarse washing bag like he was some kind of dirty linen. Female crane was immersed in the pain of losing her love, she was behaving like she has lost her senses. But the killers showed no mercy and soft corner and did what they had to do and carried her love along with them.
