To a stationary man rain is falling on his back with
a velocity 6 km/h at an angle 30' with vertical. To
make the rain velocity appear vertical the man
should move
(1) Forward with a velocity 3 km/h
(2) Forward with a velocity 3/3 km/h
(3) Backward with a velocity 3 km/h
(4) Forward with a velocity 213 km/h
- from the ground.

Hii Dear,

◆ Answer -

(3) Backward with a velocity 3 km/h

● Explanation -

Given that the rain falls at velocity of 6 kmph at 30° to the vertical.

For this rain velocity to appear vertical, man have to run at horizontal component of this velocity.

Vm = Vr.sinθ

Vm = 6 × sin30°

Vm = 6 × 0.5

Vm = 3 kmph

Therefore, the man have to run at 3 kmph so that rain velocity will appear vertical. As the rain is falling on the back, he should move backwards to make it vertical.

Thanks dear...
