● Explanation -

Given that the rain falls at velocity of 6 kmph at 30° to the vertical.

For this rain velocity to appear vertical, man have to run at horizontal component of this velocity.

Vm = Vr.sinθ

Vm = 6 × sin30°

Vm = 6 × 0.5

Vm = 3 kmph

Therefore, the man have to run at 3 kmph so that rain velocity will appear vertical.
