no it is not compulsory to take economics in class 11th to become at IPS officer rather than it you can take the subject which you like more . but the most important subject to become an IPS officer after pass out the UPSC exam is Social Studies we have to know about the Social Studies and you have also to know about the current activities of the past activities which has been done in our world or in our country
