However one good thing for you is, if you have got great marks, then medical board can still exempt you for 1 to 2 cm’s depending on your grades. So don’t be demotivated and work harder than ever.

Minimum measurement of chest for men should be 84 cm and for women it should be 79 cm. Exemption for candidates belonging to schedules tribes discussed above is once again 5 cm similar to height requirements.

How chest is measured for IPS medical exam?
You will be required to stand straight with your feet together. Examiner will then put an inch tape around your chest and you will be asked to breath heavily. This will be done 2 to 3 times and then based on average your chest height will be calculated.
Advice
You can start going to gym and do some exercises for chest. There are also some chest exercise which you can do at home. These exercises will make you fit and eligible for IPS exam. So you win both ways. And these exercise can be done by men and women.
Eye sight related IPS physical requirements
Minimum eyesight required for IPS officer is 6/6 or 6/9. Worse eye is considered when eye sight is 6/12 and 6/9. Near vision should be J1 for good eye and if near vision is J2 then near vision is worse.
Other technical requirements are, Myopia should not exceed -4.00 D and Hypermetropia should not exceed +4.00D.
