Dear friend,

Sulphuric acid is added to water to make it impure in terms of chemistry. Because pure water cannot conduct electricity as it does not have any free H+ ions in it. So an acid is added to it to dissociate it into H+ ions in order to conduct electricity.

Hope it helps !!!

AritraK: What's that ?
abhishekambast: what do you think ?whats that?
AritraK: No idea !!! ???
abhishekambast: then forget that
AritraK: Now I knew. You mean "Your welcome."

Answer:

Water is a poor conductor of electrcity. Addition of a few drops of sulphuric acid (H2SO4) makes water conducting in nature because the acid ionises in water to release H+ ions and HSO-4 ions.
