⭐To compare the pressure exerted by the solid iron cuboid, A student took two cuboids having the same dimension and same nature of material. After performing the experiment with both the cuboids, She found⭐

After performing the experiment with both the cuboids, the student found option (c) p1 = p2 to be correct.

• Pressure is defined as force acting per unit area ( P = F / A ).

• Now, force exerted by a cuboid is due to the weight of the cuboid.

∴  Force = weight = mass × acceleration due to gravity

• Since both the cuboids are made of iron, they have the same mass, and therefore, exert the same force.

• Let the pressure exerted by the first and the second cuboid be taken as p1 and p2 respectively by the student.

• Two iron cuboids of same dimensions will also occupy the same area.

• Therefore, two iron cuboids of identical dimensions will exert the same magnitude of force on exactly the same units of area.

• Since force and area are same for both the cuboids, the magnitude of pressure exerted by them is equal.

Hence, p1 = p2.
