To construct the above said follow these simple steps

Step 1: Draw a horizontal line,put marking of 1 cm.start of marking should named as O.

Step2: Draw a line OA of 1 cm.

Step3: put protector on OA and make an angle of 90°. With this angle draw 1 cm line AB.

Step 4: join OB ,this length is equal to √2.

Step 5: You can also join OB to number line with the help of compass.To express √2 on Number line.

Step 6: Now OB is your reference line,put protector on OB and make an angle of 90°. With this angle draw 1 cm line BC.

Step 7: join OC ,this length is equal to √3.

Step 8: You can also join OC to number line with the help of compass.To express √3 on Number line(as shown in attachment)

Step9: Now OC is your reference line,put protector on OC and make an angle of 90°. With this angle draw 1 cm line CD.

Step 10: join OD ,this length is equal to √4.

Step 11: You can also join OD to number line with the help of compass.To express √4 on Number line(as shown in attachment)
