To construct tangent to a circle without using center tangent segment theorem is used.

  • The tangent segment theorem states that the angle between the chord and tangent in a circle, through one of the end points of the chord is equal to the angle in the alternate segment.
  • While according to the other theorems, like the tangent radius theorem we would need the radius and the center of the circle to draw a tangent.
  • In the tangent secant angle theorem, a secant is constructed and not a tangent.
  • Same is the case with cyclic quadrilateral theorem, a tangent is not constructed in it.
