to cook a dish a chef requires tomatoes and onions in the ratio 3:1. If he uses 100 onions, how many tomatoes does he require?

1 onion - 3 tomatoes
100 onions - 300 tomatoes

• See, if the ratio of onion and tomato is 1:3, then the chef is probably using 1 onion along with 3 tomatoes for the preparation of the dish.

• And when he uses 100 onions.. according to the ratio..He'll again use thrice the onions for tomatoes that is he'll use 300 tomatoes...
