hlo mate..

Science and technology have advanced so much and brought about a massive change in our lives. So many new gadgets have been made which have made our lives easy and convenient. Gadgets are used in every sphere of life. They are used in offices where the computers have changed the way of working and made the work much easier.
In schools and colleges gadgets like calculators and laptops have made it easier for the students to study. They are able to access a wide range of knowledge. Every house has gadgets like televisions, refrigerators and washing machines. Majority of the people own vehicles like cars, scooters and motorbikes. The mobile phones have become very popular. Even the people living in villages own a mobile phone. So the craze for electronic toys is going on increasing.
However,
this obsession for gadgets has a negative impact on the environment. When these
gadgets wear out they are discarded. This creates e-waste. When electronic
goods are not disposed properly they harm the environment. They contain toxins
like mercury, lithium and lead. When these electronic items are thrown away the
toxins are released in the environment.

Modern transport and
telecommunication has expanded a lot. But it does not have a very conducive
influence on the environment. The air gets polluted by the gases emitted by the
vehicles. Global warming increases due to them. Besides this, there is noise
pollution. That is why environmentalists suggest that these modes of transport
should be replaced by more environmental friendly means of transport. They
should be energy efficient. Moreover, the carbon monoxide emissions are not
good for health. So there is a need to adopt eco friendly ways.

The growth of industries has helped
to increase production but it has created a lot of pollution. The waste
products from some of the industries are released into the rivers. This causes
water pollution. The smoke pollutes the air. Many people behave in an
irresponsible manner and throw plastic bags and other wastes in lakes and
rivers. In this way they pollute the water.

In order to curb pollution it is
necessary to become eco friendly. It means we should live in such a way that we
cause minimum harm to the environment. We should use eco friendly product and
promote green living. We should help to conserve energy and avoid water, air
and noise pollution.

We should consume items which cause
minimum harm to the environment. We should find out our carbon footprint and
make an effort to lessen its impact on the environment. We must make an effort
to help the other people and communities who are trying to live in an eco
friendly manner.

We must
reuse items instead of disposing them. We ought to conserve electricity and
water. We must plant more trees, drive less and walk more. We should buy energy
efficient goods and locally grown products. We must not throw garbage all over
the place. We should buy recycled products.

We
should make people aware about pollution and tell them the way to avoid it. We
should enlighten them about the ill effects of global warming and the way to
curb it. In this way we can help in preventing pollution and safeguarding the
environment.

Pollution under control (PUC) is a certification mark that is issued to certify if the motor vehicles in India meet the pollution and emission control norms, under Section 2 (28) of The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

The PUC certificate comes at a price after testing the vehicles and is valid for up to 6 months.

Awareness about a mandatory PUC certificate can be created in the public by organizing centers’ and campaigns with the help from various government departments like Department of Transport, Department of Environment and Food & Supply along with the Traffic Police so that vehicular pollution can be mitigated.

Also, infrastructure regarding issuing of PUC certificate should be expanded and upgraded.

Spreading the awareness by news articles in the newspapers is the best as newspapers reach out to almost every household.

Also, it would be easier for the individuals to apply for a mandatory PUC certificate at fuel-filling stations so that they can avoid the hassles of going to a government office to complete the formalities.
