[Step:1] —> Measure the weight of the soil piece using Spring balance.
[Step:2]–> Pour water in cylinder, tie soil piece to string, hang it and make the soil piece inside the water so that it doesn't touch the sides or bottom of the container.
[Step:3]–> Note the rise in level of the container and also the weight of container.
[Step:4]–> Convert weight to mass by dividing the weight by 9.8 and taking approx. value. Now, use the formula Mass/Volume to obtain the density of soil piece.
