Answer:

9.3 min

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Joseph takes x hours =60x minutes time to cmplt....

then raju will be taking x - 6 hrs =60x - 360 minutes ...

And 13 hrs 20 min =800 minutes

A/C 60x - 360 + 60x = 800

=x= 9.3 minutes

Joseph will take 30 hours to complete the work individually.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Joseph takes time to complete a work = t hours

one hour work of Joseph = \frac{1}{t}

Raju takes time to complete that work = (t-6) hours

one hour work of Raju = \frac{1}{(t-6)}

Both together complete the same amount of work in 13 hours 20 min = 13 hours (20 ÷ 60) 1/3 min. = \frac{40}{3} min.

So one hour work by both together =

\frac{1}{t}+\frac{1}{(t-6)}=\frac{3}{40}

\frac{t-6+t}{t(t-6)}=\frac{3}{40}

\frac{2t-6}{t^2-6t}=\frac{3}{40}

80t - 240 = 3t² - 18t

3t² - 98t + 240 = 0

3t² - 90t - 8t +240 = 0

3t(t - 30) - 8(t - 30) = 0

(3t - 8)(t - 30) = 0

t = \frac{8}{3}, 30 hours

But for t = \frac{8}{3} hours, time taken by Raju will be negative so this can not be the answer.

Therefore, Joseph will take 30 hours to complete the work individually.
