Now ,
the above equation is linear equation in two variable.
So,
3x + 6y = 12
=> 3x = 12 - 6y
=> x = ( 12 - 6y ) / 3
=> x = 4 - 2y (1)
On putting the value of x = 8 in the equation (1), we get value of y.
x = 4 - 2y
put x = 8,
8 = 4 - 2y
-2y = 8 - 4
-2y = 4
2y = -4
y = -2
Therefore on putting the value of x = 8 we get y = -2.
