To enhance the image of this long awaited friend in my imagination, I don‘t want to jot

down the facts in this diary the way most people would do, but I want the diary to be my

friend, and I‘m going to call this friend ‗Kitty‘.

Since no one would understand a word of my stories to Kitty if I were to plunge right in,

I‘d better provide a brief sketch of my life, much as I dislike doing so.

A. Whose image needed to be enhanced ?

(i) Kitty’s (ii) Anne’s

(iii) The family of Anne (iv) The mother of Anne

B. The friend was :

(i) An imaginary one (ii) A boy

(iii) A girl (iv) A classmate

C. Find a word from the passage which means the same as ‗take down‘.

(i) imagination (ii) jot down

(iii) enhance (iv) long - awaited

D. Who is ‗I‘ in the above lines ?

(i) Anne’s father (ii) Anne’s mother

(iii) Anne’s sister (iv)Anne

E. This extract is written in__________ tone.

(i) autobiographical (ii) Non-realistic

(iii)Fictional (iv) None of them
