multiply.

eg

if you multiply 1/2 by 2, both the numerator and denominator, it becomes 2/4.

To find equivalent fractions, multiply the numerator and the denominator of the fraction by the same number.

Example: To get equivalent fractions of 2/3.

2/3*2/2 = 4/6

2/3*3/3 = 6/9

2/3*4/4 = 8/12

In the above examples, you can see that both the numerator and denominator are multiplied by the same number in order to get an equivalent fraction.

Hope it helps :)
