To find the values of abscissa and ordinate of various points given in a Cartesian plane in activity file?
Answers
Required Material- Cardboard, white paper, graph paper, geometry box, scissors and glue.
Theory- To find out a point in Cartesian plane, perpendicular distances form X and Y axis are required which is known as coordinates of a Point. X coordinate point is a perpendicular distance from Y- axis which is measured along X-axis and it is called as abscissa and Y- coordinate point is a perpendicular distance form X-axis which is measured along the Y-axis and it is called as ordinate.
Procedure- Take a suitable size of cardboard and paste a white paper on it. After that pates the graph paper with different points mentioned on it. Now look the graph paper and the points whose abscissa and ordinates you want to find.
Note- You should be careful while reading the coordinates, if not than it will give you the location of the object that will differ.
