By Pythagoras theorem

you will get this--

required distance=

 {16}^{2} +  {12}^{2}   =  {20}^{2}

so required distance is 20 kilometres

Answer:

20 km

Step-by-step explanation:

Put it into a right angled triangle- you are finding the hypotenuse.

Use Pythagoras- 16^2 + 12^2 = Hypotenuse^2

400 = Hypotenuse^2

Hypotenuse = 20km

Therefore the answer is 20km
