This is indeed a fact of life that our society makes weird and unrealistic standards for everyone to follow. One of the un-idealistic standards is that of "fair complexion" to be in demand in matrimonial advertisements. People do not realize that by making such demands they are becoming colorists. (Just like racists, when people do discrimination based on color is known as colorists). Even the West looks at tan people and girls as beautiful. The beauty should be in the eye of the beholder instead of societal pressures making life harder for women.
