tell her to learn the chapters from the very beginning day and that would utimately higher her grades and tell her that past is past and it should be left and from past we should learn the thing and we should not be hanging and depressed about the past
this would certainly her her and tell her that you would her to prepare and u would clarify  her doubts it would make her courage enhanced
