Given info : To maintain a rotational speed of a fan at 720 rad/min a motor need torque of 10 Newton metre.

To find : the power of the motor is ...

solution : rotational speed of the fan, ω = 720 rad/min = 720/60 rad/s = 12 rad/s

torque is needed for the motor, τ = 10 Nm

the power of the motor required to transmit energy to apply a torque τ to a motor which rotates with angular speed ω is given by, P = τω

   = 10 × 12 = 120 W

therefore the power of the motor is 120W.
