Solution :

Given :

A rotor is rotating with uniform angular velocity of magnitude 100 rad/s, to maintain the angular velocity engine needs to transmit torque of magnitude 100N-m

To Find :-

Power of the engine

Formula :-

Formula of power of torque in terms of torque and angular velocity is given by

Power = Torque × Ang. Velocity

Calculation :-

\implies\sf\:P=\tau\times \omega\\ \\ \implies\sf\:P=100\times 100\\ \\ \implies\underline{\boxed{\bf{\purple{Power=10\:kW}}}}

Additional information :-

  • Power is also defined as wirk done per unit time.
  • Power is scalar quantiy.
  • Torque is called as moment of force.
  • Torque is axial vector quantity.
