Now, let's say we withdraw 4y units of mixture are replace them with water. When we take out 4y units of mixture, we are actually taking out 3y milk and y water. We are adding pure water back into the cup.

New quantity of milk = 3x - 3y

New quantity of water = x - y + 4y = x + 3y

They are equal to each other.

=> 3x - 3y = x + 3y

=> 2x = 6y

=> y/x = 1/3

=> 4y/4x = 1/3
